Mud brick home to be owner built in Te Puke. The house faces due north with a wrap around verandah. Like many owner built homes, the initial plan was produced by the client, and I have helped them develop it into 3D form.
The interior will use lots of timber panelling to the light timber framed walls, and ceilings. Over the open plan kitchen, living area, the roof will be formed with scissor trusses to achieve an affordable cathedral ceiling. A niche will also be formed into the adobe walls of this room, to provide more character to the natural mud bricks.
It is on a lovely property with extensive gardens, as well as a beautiful little cob roundhouse.
